Audio description & film accessibility services in India
KinoSync is an India-based audio description provider. We produce Audio Description, Closed Captions and Indian Sign Language for film and OTT — conformed to the CBFC accessibility requirements that take effect on 15 March 2026.
Accessibility is now a certification requirement
Under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting's accessibility guidelines, feature films submitted for CBFC certification from 15 March 2026must carry closed captions and audio description. India's OTT platforms are moving the same way. For producers, accessibility has shifted from a nice-to-have to a delivery requirement — and it opens your film to millions of blind, low-vision, Deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers.
According to the World Health Organization, more than 2.2 billion people live with a vision impairment and over 430 million people have disabling hearing loss worldwide — a vast audience that an inaccessible release simply leaves out.
What we produce for Indian films
Audio Description (AD)
Scripted and voiced narration of the on-screen action for blind and low-vision audiences — in English, Hindi or your film's language, tuned to its tone and pacing.
Closed Captions & Subtitles (CC)
Accurate, well-timed captions with speaker labels and sound cues for Deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences — plus multi-language subtitling for India's many language markets.
Indian Sign Language (ISL)
A fluent, filmed interpretation by qualified signers in Indian Sign Language — the most natural access for many Deaf audiences who sign, delivered ready to use.
Explore each in depth: audio description services, closed captioning & subtitling, sign language production and OTT & platform accessibility.
Built for CBFC compliance
We produce to the accessibility standards Indian certification and OTT platforms expect, conformed to your delivery spec — so your title passes first time.
Made for Indian audiences
Hindi, regional languages and Indian Sign Language, by specialists who understand the Indian market — not a one-size-fits-all import.

Audio description in India: questions answered
Are audio description and closed captions mandatory for films in India?
Yes. Under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting's accessibility guidelines, feature films submitted for CBFC certification from 15 March 2026 must include closed captions and audio description. OTT platforms are also introducing their own accessibility requirements.
Do you provide audio description in Hindi and regional Indian languages?
Yes. We produce audio description and captions in English, Hindi and other Indian languages, and sign language interpretation in Indian Sign Language (ISL), so your film is accessible to audiences across India's language markets.
Can you make our back catalogue compliant, not just new releases?
Yes. We work title-by-title or across a whole catalogue, producing Audio Description, Closed Captions and ISL and conforming every deliverable to your platform's specification — useful for OTT services bringing existing libraries up to standard.
What do you deliver, and in what formats?
Delivery-ready AD audio stems, caption files (SRT, VTT, TTML/IMSC and broadcast formats) and conformed ISL video, built to the exact technical spec your cinema, broadcaster or streaming platform requires and quality-checked against picture.
How quickly can you turn a film around for a certification deadline?
Turnaround depends on runtime and the tracks required, but we plan backwards from your certification or release date. Tell us your deadline and target spec and we'll confirm a schedule.
